IVAN IS GREAT ON PYRENEES YET
by Editorial Office

During the most awaited stage of Pyrenees, the hardest, Ivan Basso gives important signal. Among the few that makes bold, green and blue captain try again to climb the general classification. "Sure, to make the difference on this climb, you need to attack it from below. For me to race it at my potential, I'd need to go from a reduced group. Today we weren't able to do what we wanted, so it wasn't a hundred percent positive day for me. So I'm not super happy with it, but surely it's not a step backward... I believe that to make the difference today, you can't attack when there are over twenty left in the group. You need to reduce the group to four or five, and then try. I think that Andy and Frank, in order to drop Cadel, need to keep the pace high earlier in the climb or else it'll be difficult... The Alps? I think that you need to approach the Tour day by day. Even tomorrow seems like a stage for the sprinters, but there will be wind, probably bad weather, so we'll look forward to tomorrow."
